I’m an Aunt!
My sister in law has given birth to her child at last. I’m an Aunt! I can’t wait to get to see them both tomorrow, They have such a horde of people descending on them to meet the new little person and wish them well that I offered to wait just one more day, give [...]
Some Days
Some days just never really get going do they? You achieve little, feel unmotivated and they just drift through your fingers.
Television
I find television really hard to watch lately. Not that it’s got worse or that I get more bored than I used to, but because I have become increasingly aware of the lazy gender stereotyping and sexism that is just so ubiquitous. Adverts are of course the worst offenders. Seriously, television adverts must be the [...]
Post

Often all on one page.
Selfphobia
Ok so this is kind of a tricky post to write. Not least as I’m going to write about something I’m really not very proud of, and about something that is quite painful to admit.
I’ve been realising that I carry about some internalised transphobia, some fear and aversion to trans people, including my own self. [...]
Isolation
One of the things about being in a minority is you are, well, a minority. Sometimes it can be difficult to find people who share your experiences and position. This is certainly so for trans people.
Enter the internet. Someone pointed me to the Questioning Transphobia blog, and I spent several hours following links, being exposed [...]
